No talks regarding an alliance with the Thaaveka: Edappadi K. Palaniswami

Tamil Nadu: AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami stated that neither the AIADMK nor the parties allied with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have held any discussions regarding a potential alliance with the Tamil Nadu Vijay Party.

On Sunday, an Iftar feast was hosted by the AIADMK in Egmore, Chennai. Edappadi K. Palaniswami and leaders of the constituent parties of the alliance participated in the event.

Subsequently, Edappadi Palaniswami told reporters: “Discussions regarding seat-sharing with the parties allied with the National Democratic Alliance will be held shortly. There has been no delay in this process. Seat-sharing arrangements will be finalized in such a manner that our alliance candidates are assured of victory.”

“The AIADMK serves as a strong pillar of support for Muslims. It is customary for Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to portray himself as the ‘protector of minorities’ whenever elections approach; however, the DMK government has done nothing tangible for the Muslim community thus far. In contrast, during the AIADMK’s tenure, we implemented numerous welfare schemes—such as increased funding for the Hajj pilgrimage and educational scholarships for Muslim students. The AIADMK government has consistently stood as a steadfast support system for the Muslim community. Under the current DMK regime, not only Muslims but the people of Tamil Nadu as a whole feel a sense of insecurity.”

“Driven by the fear of electoral defeat, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin hurriedly laid the foundation stones for several projects as the elections drew near; however, funds have yet to be allocated for these initiatives. None—not even a quarter—of the promises made by the DMK during the previous election campaign have been fulfilled. The public is currently facing severe hardships due to the deteriorating law-and-order situation, as well as steep hikes in electricity tariffs and property taxes. Furthermore, rampant corruption has permeated every sector as a direct consequence of poor governance.”

“Any party that subscribes to our policies is welcome to join the National Democratic Alliance.” Edappadi Palaniswami reiterated that neither the AIADMK nor its alliance partners have engaged in any discussions regarding a potential coalition with the Tamil Nadu Vijay Party.
