Notice issued to 9 shops, food department found deficiencies in investigation

Jagdalpur. Collector Vijay Dayaram K. As per the orders of the Food and Drug Administration, keeping in view the rainy season and festivals, action was taken on regular inspection, sample collection and irregularities found in all Chowpatty food stalls, grocery stores, hotels in the district. All the food establishments of Tokapal block and the food stalls, grocery stores and hotels operating in front of Dimrapal Medical College Jagdalpur were thoroughly inspected by the Food Safety Officer and the team. During this, food license was checked, in which license was not found in many establishments, they were directed to do food business only by taking food license-registration, giving them seven days time. Sample collection was done through mobile food lab and report was given immediately by the food lab after checking the sample. A total of 55 samples were collected through the mobile food lab, on immediate examination, 46 samples were found to be standard, 04 samples counterfeit, 04 substandard and 01 unsafe. Sub-standard and unsafe samples were immediately destroyed.

During the inspection, notices were issued to 09 shops for immediate improvement in the food premises which were not found following the standards of cleanliness and food safety as per the rules. During this, cold drinks less packet semolina, Britannia Jimjam Biscuit, packed flour were found to be expired, which were immediately destroyed and warned to take action as per the Act and trick action if the rule is not followed in future. Food Safety Officer Mr. Sushmit Dewangan, Sample Assistant Mr. Nand Kishore Hirwani, and staff of Mobile Food Lab were present during this entire process. Keeping in view the rainy season, all the restaurants, fast food centers, cart gumti, juice center operators of the district should completely stop using news paper for suggestions and directions and use food grade paper in its place. Keeping in mind the rains, take special care of cleanliness and the water used. Keep food items covered and destroy stale food items immediately. According to the rules, food business should be done only by taking food license-registration. At the time of food manufacturing and sale, instructions have been given to follow the hygiene standards by themselves and all the staff.
