Notification issued for Kharif 2023 under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, crop insurance to loanee and non-loanee farmers

Notification has been issued for Kharif-2023 under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. According to this, Kshema General Insurance Ltd Insurance Company has been authorized for the implementation of the scheme in district Sriganganagar.
Joint Director Agriculture (Extension) Dr. GR Matoria said that cotton, guar, paddy, coral, groundnut, bajra, moth and sesame have been notified for insurance under Kharif crops in the district. According to the notification issued by the state government, the farmers who have taken crop loan under this scheme, whose crop loan limit has been approved or the loan has been disbursed, will be eligible for crop insurance. This scheme is completely voluntary for the loanee farmers, but to remain separate from this scheme, the loanee farmers will have to submit a declaration in their respective bank by the last date of enrollment till July 24, otherwise they will be considered included in the scheme.
He said that before deducting the crop insurance, the concerned banks will ensure to take a certificate from the farmer that he has not got crop insurance for the sown crop from any other bank and the last date for giving information about the change in insured crop by the loanee farmers to the concerned bank has been fixed as July 29, 2023. Non-loanee farmer and sharecropper farmer on voluntary basis got crop insurance done as non-loanee farmer with documents such as proof of land ownership, land ownership certificate, bank account proof, copy of Aadhaar card, self-attested Jamabandi downloaded from Apna Khata portal, self-attested crop sowing declaration, affidavit of sharecropper farmer, Rajasthan domicile certificate of sharecropper farmer, self-attested copy of Aadhaar card etc. Can go
He informed that the premium of loanee farmers will be recovered from their loan accounts. Non-loanee and sharecropper farmers take insurance of their crops on voluntary basis through the nearest Central Cooperative Bank/Regional Rural Bank/Commercial Bank branches and CSCs. Insurance of paddy crop can be done by farmers of Anupgarh, Suratgarh and Vijayanagar tehsils, millet crop in Raisinghnagar and Suratgarh tehsils, and groundnut, moth and sesame crops can be done by farmers of Suratgarh tehsil. Insurance cover will be available for a maximum period of two weeks (14 days) after harvesting for the damage caused by cyclone, cyclonic rain, untimely rain and hailstorm to the crop left after harvesting and spread in the field to dry.
He told that according to the notification issued by the state government, within 72 hours the affected farmers will be directly authorized insurance company Kshama General Insurance Ltd. for crop insurance in Sriganganagar district.
