NTPC Talaipalli’s dispatch capacity doubled
Gharghoda. Taking its despatch operations forward at full capacity, NTPC Talaipalli conducted a successful locomotive trial at its newly constructed Wharf Wall on November 15, 2023. With the expansion of the dispatch platform, the coal delivery capacity of Talaipalli Coal Mining Project has now doubled from 25000 tonnes.
NTPC’s captive mines operating under the Talaipalli Coal Mining Project are currently dispatching coal to various NTPC stations across the country as well as to the Super Thermal Power Plant at Lara. The construction of Wharf Wall 2 by NTPC Talaipalli and testing of its entire length has come at a time when the commencement of the East Pit of the mine is imminent.
The Wharf Wall, a point of connectivity between the coal stockyard and the MGR Rail network of the project, is an important part of the overall operation of the Talaipalli Coal Mining Project. The ready-to-use access roads and loading platforms at Jetty Wall 2 will help NTPC Talaipalli achieve its annual target of 8 million metric tonnes. This is an important step by NTPC to help the nation in times of additional resource power crisis.
