Nuh violence: Congress MLA Mamman Khan’s remand extended by two days, internet service restored
Gurugram (IANS). Firozpur Jhirka Congress MLA Mamman Khan, accused of instigating the Nuh violence, was again produced before a court on Sunday which extended his remand to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) by two days.
The court also sent Khan to judicial custody in three other cases.
Security was beefed up in the district due to Khan’s court appearance. More than 200 policemen were deployed on the road leading to the court. The court has extended the SIT remand of the accused MLA by two more days.
After the arrest, the MLA was sent to two days’ police custody on Friday.
It is being told that Nuh police had registered four FIRs against the accused MLA, in which in FIR numbers 148, 149 and 150, he was sent to jail, while in FIR number 137, the court sent him on remand for two days.
The SIT had arrested the Congress MLA from Rajasthan in the early hours of Friday on charges of posting inflammatory posts and inciting his supporters to violence.
According to sources, the SIT interrogated him for five hours during his remand. During this, the investigation team asked many questions to the accused MLA. During interrogation, Mamman Khan was seen avoiding the questions of the SIT.
The police told the court that the accused was not cooperating, was hiding facts and his phone had been formatted.
SIT will also record the statements of the security personnel engaged in the security of the MLA.
Meanwhile, internet service, which was closed for two days, has been restored in Nuh.
