O. Panneerselvam – Meeting with Minister P.K. Sekarbabu

Tamil Nadu: Former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam and Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Minister P.K. Sekarbabu met and held discussions in the Speaker’s chamber at the Assembly on Saturday.
With the assembly elections approaching, O. Panneerselvam has been continuously engaging in discussions regarding his political stance for the past few months. However, due to the delay in making a decision, some of his supporters, including Manoj Pandian and Vaithilingam, have joined the DMK. Meanwhile, it was being said that indirect talks were underway to bring O. Panneerselvam into the DMK.
In this context, O. Panneerselvam and Minister P.K. Sekarbabu met for 15 minutes in the Speaker’s office at the Chennai Secretariat. No information about this meeting was released from either side.
O. Panneerselvam will hold another meeting in Chennai on Sunday (January 25) regarding his political future.
Sources close to him said that he will take the next step in a day or two and that he has no intention of forming a separate party. It is also being said that he has decided to join the DMK along with his supporters.
Among the disgruntled AIADMK MLAs who worked with O. Panneerselvam, only Ayyappan, the MLA from Usilampatti in Madurai district, is currently with him.
