Odisha: 195 colleges asked to form self-defense clubs

Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday seized Rs 9 lakh in cash from the Palaspalli area house of Prayas Kanti, son of senior BJD leader and former minister Prafulla Samal, during searches in a money laundering case.

Central agency officials have also seized a high-end car of a real estate company from Prayas Kanti. Sources said Prayas and the construction company were allegedly involved in some land deals which are under the scanner of the ED. The agency started the investigation after receiving allegations of misappropriation of crores of rupees by the management of Bhadrak Institute of Engineering and Technology (BIET) in Barapada. Prayas Kanti is the President of BIET.
