Odisha BJP MLAs to meet Prez, PM in Delhi seeking ED, CBI probe into corruption
Adelegation of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs from Odisha under the leadership of Leader of Opposition (LoP) Jayanarayan Mishra will leave for Delhi soon, Mishra informed on Thursday. “We the 22 MLAs are going to Delhi. The date hasn’t been finalised yet. There we will a meet with the Railway Minister regarding the expansion of the railway in Odisha. We will also meet the ST/SC Minister. But, the main aim of our visit is to meet the President, the Prime Minister, the Home Minister and the Chief Election Commissioner,” said Mishra. “We are preparing a memorandum on how all starting from a peon to an IAS officer are working on the basis of the party line in Odisha. We will submit the memorandum to them. There is rampant corruption at the government level. While the ED and the CBI are going to other states, why they are not coming to Odisha. Our main demand will be to send the ED and the CBI to Odisha,” the LoP said.
In this regard, OPCC Chief Sarat Pattanayak said, “The BJP and BJD are siblings. They (the BJP) are going to Delhi to deceive people in Odisha. Even after their return from Delhi, neither the ED nor the CBI will visit the state. Why nothing has so far been done in chit fund scam and mine scam? If you take the example of the Vedanta case, even after the Supreme Court’s direction regarding the return of thousands of acres of land, why they are sitting idle.”
