Odisha state temperature drops, cloudy for next five days
Bhubaneswar: After suffering from the scorching heatwave for a few days, the people of Odisha were finally able to take a breather from the severe heat with a arrival of the sudden on Friday. Thanks to the rain, the temperature has decreased and many places including the capital city Bhubaneswar have witnessed cloudy weather today.
The regional Meteorological Centre has predicted that the day temperature will decrease by three to five degrees for the next five days.
The districts of Ganjam, Khurdha, Puri, Nayagarh, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Nabarangpur will likely receive thundershowers activity with gusty winds today.
As per MeT, thunderstorms with lightning, and gusty surface wind reaching speeds up to 40-50 kmph, and scattered to fairly widespread rainfall will likely be experienced over the districts of during the next 3 to 4 days.
With 43 degrees Celsius, Bhubaneswar was the second hottest city in the State yesterday. However, today, the city witnessed a cloudy sky, cool breeze, and a slight drizzle, bringing down the temperature by several notches. The capital city recorded 36.1 degrees Celsius today.
As per the IMD report, places like Jharsuguda, Chandbali, Balasore, Sambalpur and Keonjhar, where scorching heat was experienced yesterday, witnessed a change in the weather conditions today.
