Odisha’s transformation a blow to the opposition: CM Naveen Patnaik
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal supremo Naveen Patnaik on Friday attacked opposition political parties for their misinformation campaign and said Odisha’s transformation has taken him by surprise. Addressing the party’s state executive, he said that BJD has become the most successful socio-economic movement in the country as such a transformation has never been seen before in Odisha. Be it redevelopment of temples, schools, universities and the health sector, transformational changes have taken place, he said.
The state has now become the sports capital of the country. Naveen said, Odisha has become an example for the entire country in terms of women empowerment and attracting investment and development.
The Prime Minister said that opposition political parties are resorting to misinformation campaign because they have no problem. These propaganda campaigns must be countered at the grassroots level. He asked party leaders to increase their presence on social media platforms to counter the opposition.
Development should be the party’s message to the people and it should be taken to every household in the state. “The people of Odisha know that a thousand lies can never become truth,” he said.
The party also used the occasion to revive its call for central negligence ahead of the 2024 elections.
The state executive, chaired by Naveen, expressed disappointment over the Chhattisgarh government’s construction of dams on the upper Mahanadi river and the Centre’s silence on the Polavaram project, against which the state has been raising its voice for long. Year.
BJD also decided to raise the demand for special category state status for Odisha. Increase in coal royalty, duty settlement, exemption from GST on kendu leaves and Centre’s failure to reduce prices of essential commodities, among other demands, were discussed in the meeting.
At least 11 proposals on various sectors were approved in the meeting. Besides, the meeting adopted 16 resolutions thanking the Prime Minister for the successes of the state government and BJD in various fields.
