Officials told to expedite construction of Central govt offices

Guntur: Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, Dr Pemmasani Chandrasekhar directed the officials to speed up the construction of Central government office buildings in Amaravati. Central Public Works Department chief engineer CN Suresh and superintendent engineer Srinivas met Pemmasani Chandrasekhar at his camp office here on Friday. They briefed on the progress of the construction of Central government offices in Amaravati and discussed action plans. The officials explained that the Central government general pool offices accommodation project will be constructed on 5.53 acres at Rayapudi at a cost of Rs 1,229.08 crore. They said the tenders will be called for this project in the first week of September. The project will comprise G+13 floors, G+10 floors blocks to accommodate eight thousand employees.
They said a General Pool Residential Accommodation Project will be constructed on 17 acres of land at Inavolu at a cost of Rs 1,234.91 crore. Tenders will be invited for this project in the first week of August. They targeted to complete both projects by February 2029. They said Indira Gandhi National Open University building construction has been completed and ready for inauguration. Dr Pemmasani Chandrasekhar replied that he would be available round the clock for coordination between Centre and state government and extend cooperation.
