Ola Electric motorcycle teased ahead of rumored August launch
Ola’s CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has teased one of the company’s upcoming electric motorcycles on social media. The brand which is currently popular among two-wheeler lovers for its e-scooter lineup is working on its first electric motorcycle. According to reports, the new Ola Electric electric motorcycle will be made official on August 15.
Now, we have information about the battery pack, electric motor, front sprocket, and final drive chain of the e-motorcycle thank to the teaser.
Ola Electric first showcased the concept version of four potential electric motorcycle models a year ago. The concept version packed futuristic design along with advanced features.
The teased e-bike is said to be the production ready version of one of those four models. The teaser has confirmed a steel tubular frame that houses a compact battery pack for the e-motorcycle. The electric motor sits below the battery pack while the drive chain has a feasible front sprocket. It also had several control modules strategically located on the bike.
The features visible in the teaser image are the presence of forward-set footpegs which confirms that the model is an e-motorcycle. Meanwhile, the seat height seems to remain the same as the battery pack, suggesting accessible saddle height for riders.
The company has not revealed the official name and specification details of the production-ready electric bike yet. It is unlikely that the model will become a production model within this year. We will get more details after the August 15 announcement of Ola Electric.
