On Chahal being dropped from Australia ODI, Harbhajan said – ‘It is beyond my understanding’
New Delhi (IANS). Former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh expressed his displeasure over leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal being dropped from the upcoming home ODI series against Australia.
Earlier, Yuzvendra Chahal was also left out of India’s 15-man World Cup squad and since then he has been playing county cricket for Kent.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Harbhajan said, “Yuzvendra Chahal should have been in the team against Australia. He has not been given a chance. It is beyond my understanding. Either he has fought with someone or he has Said something, I don’t know. If we talk about skill only, his name should have been in this team because many players of Team India are resting.
Australia will face India after losing the five-match ODI series against South Africa 3-2.
On one hand, the Indian team was playing against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup. The Australian team was facing South Africa. Australia is a strong team.
“You have to be at your best to beat Australia because they have good batting at No. 7-8,” Harbhajan said.
India and Australia will face each other in the World Cup on October 8. Before that, India will face Australia in a three-match ODI series starting from September 22 for which the Indian team has been announced.
