Raigarh. Chakradharnagar police took action against drug smuggling during vehicle checking this morning. In view of the arrival of ministers at the mini stadium this morning, the movement of heavy vehicles was stopped near village Chitakakani under VIP duty and suspicious vehicles were being checked. During the checking of suspicious vehicles, the actions of a motorcyclist caught the attention of the police. Some distance away from the check point, the motorcyclist tried to turn the vehicle, which made the police suspicious. In an attempt to escape, the youth riding pillion stumbled and the vigilant policemen caught him, his companion left him and fled on the motorcycle. The arrested youth told his name as Kamlesh Sahu (30 years) and confessed to carrying ganja in the bag and said that the youth who fled with the motorcycle was Rajkumar Sahu of his village. The police team, after informing the station in-charge and senior officers, took due action and seized a total of 7.220 kg of narcotic substance ganja worth Rs 86,640/- and mobile phone of accused Rajkumar Sahu from the possession of accused Kamlesh Sahu on the spot. Action under section 20 (b) NDPS Act has been taken against the accused (1) Kamlesh Sahu father Makhan Lal Sahu age 30 years (2) Rajkumar Sahu father Kartik Ram Sahu both residents of village Boirdih police station Hasaud district Sakti (CG) at police station Chakradharnagar.
In the entire action, station in-charge Chakradharnagar Inspector Prashant Rao, Sub Inspector Gendalal Sahu, Assistant Sub Inspector Nand Kumar Sarathi, Head Constable No. Shyamdev Sahu, Constable Abhay Yadav and Chandrakumar Banjare were involved. Due to the alertness of Chakradharnagar police, a major blow has been made to drug smuggling, Chakradharnagar police has intensified the campaign to arrest the absconding smuggler.
