One arrested with English liquor sold in Odisha
Raigarh. One has been caught with English liquor from Odisha. During vehicle checking at Palighat Chowk, Cyber Cell staff got information that a person was bringing a large quantity of English liquor and Mahua liquor sold in Orissa on a scooter from Orissa for illegal sale. On the informer’s information shared with senior officials, a joint team of Tamnar Police and Cyber Cell immediately started checking the vehicles near Hamirpur passenger waiting room. During this, a suspicious young man coming in Pleasure Scooty CG 13 J 0383 was stopped and interrogated, who told his name as Rohit Nishad, father Harish Chand Nishad, age 26 years, resident of Bazaar Para Tamnar, District Raigarh, and kept plastic bags near the footrest of the scooter. Inside, various types of liquor of English brands and water bottles of one liter capacity, Mahua liquor were found inside.
After interrogating young Rohit Nishad regarding the transportation of liquor and duly giving notice to Rohit Nishad, he was taking it for illegal sale. 4 bottles, 8 adhi, 49 pav of English liquor sold in the state of Orissa – Officer’s Choice, Blender Pride, Royal Stage etc. And Mahua liquor filled in 6 plastic bottles of 1 liter each, illegal liquor worth Rs 29 thousand and Pleasure Scooty CG 13 J 0383 used in transportation were seized. Action has been taken against accused Rohit Nishad under Section 34(2), 59(A) of the Excise Act at Tamnar police station.
