One dead, many injured in road accident

Guwahati: One person was killed and several others injured when a bus, four-wheeler and scooter collided in Goalpara district on Monday. According to police officials, a scooter, an SUV and a bus collided on National Highway No. 17 in Dhupdhara area of the district, resulting in the death of the driver of the four-wheeler and serious injuries to several others. However, the exact number of injured has not yet been established. The injured were taken to hospitals in Rangjuli and Dhupdhara for emergency treatment, where the condition of two people traveling in the SUV was said to be critical. (IANS)
