The body of an old man was found in the canal

Janjgir Champa. The body of an elderly man has been found floating in the canal of village Durpa-Mudpar. Sohan Banjare (69) was missing since Saturday evening, his family was searching for him. When Shivrinarayan police received information about an unidentified body in the canal, the police team immediately reached the spot. With the help of local people, the body was taken out of the canal.

Local people have speculated that he fell into the canal due to slipping of his feet. The deceased was identified as Sohan Banjare, who was last seen sitting on the bridge between Durpa-Mudpar in the evening. According to family members, Sohan Banjare had left the house for a walk in the evening.

When he did not return home till late night, the family searched for him nearby, but no clue was found. Local people speculate that in the evening he might have gone towards the canal for defecation, where he fell into the canal due to slipping of his feet.
