One killed, another injured in attack by miscreants

Ganjam: The deceased was identified as Padma Reddy alias Meetu and the injured was identified as Lakshmi Narsingh Panda of Komanda village. One person was killed and another seriously injured in an attack by some unidentified miscreants at Badrampalli village under Rambha police limits in Ganjam district.

Sources say that Padma and Lakshmi were going home when some miscreants attacked them with sharp weapons and fled from the spot. Some passersby saw him and immediately took him to Purushottampur Hospital for medical help. Both of them were immediately taken to MKCG Hospital in Berhampur, where Padma was declared dead and Lakshmi is undergoing treatment. On receiving information about the attack, Rambha police along with Chhatrapur SDPO reached the spot and started investigation. Meanwhile, it is still not clear why the attack took place.
