One-party rule is anti-democratic: K. Krishnasamy

Tamil Nadu: Puthiya Tamil Nadu Party founder and leader K. Krishnasamy stated that one-party rule is anti-democratic.
On Tuesday, a meeting of Puthiya Tamil Nadu Party executives was held in Devakottai, Sivaganga district. The meeting was chaired by party district secretary Newton Babu. Party founder leader Krishnasamy and state youth wing leader Shyam Krishnasamy spoke at the meeting.
Later, Krishnasamy told reporters:
After forming an alliance and winning the assembly elections, they are following an unchangeable rule that alliance parties have no place in the government. Our aim is to change this rule in the upcoming assembly elections. One-party rule is anti-democratic. That is why we are insisting on alliance rule.
In states like Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, even though one party has a majority, the parties in the coalition have also contributed to the government. In Tamil Nadu, where we claim to be a role model for others, they say they will only run the government. They appoint their own people as ministers. We will contest a significant number of seats in the upcoming assembly elections. The only way to come to power is to provide reservations to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in Parliament and the Assembly. Only then can their problems be solved. But they are being kept out of power. That is why their problems persist.
The Devendrakula Vellalars are strong in 22 districts. We are committed to the principle of forming an alliance with any party that wants to form a coalition government. A coalition government is the solution to our social progress.
Under the DMK rule, there is widespread caste discrimination in ministerial areas. Why rush into an alliance when the election date has not yet been announced? If the alliance parties work for our party’s victory, we will also work for theirs, he said.
