One person arrested for desecrating the temple in Dehradun

Dehradun: A man was arrested on Wednesday for desecrating a temple in Harrawala area, police said. Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajay Singh said that accused Saddam was arrested from Mehuwala area on the basis of CCTV images. His family confirmed that Saddam was suffering from mental illness and was being treated at a psychiatric hospital in Selaqui. He told police that sometimes he would become very aggressive and attack, the officer said. The matter came to light after a video surfaced on social networks on Tuesday in which a man was seen singing inside the temple premises and throwing a stone before leaving. The villagers had complained to the police saying that their religious sentiments had been hurt by this incident.
