One person arrested for forcibly converting religion from Barabanki

Barabanki (IANS). In Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district, the police have arrested a person for forcibly converting their religion. It is alleged that he used to convert poor people to Christianity.

Police said the accused Bajrang Ram, originally from Mohanlalganj in Lucknow, was living in a temporary house at Mangalpur railway crossing with his family for the last one year.

Loni Katra station in-charge Ajay Tripathi said the FIR was registered on Monday on the complaint of Vijay Hindustani and Om Prakash Singh, who had seen Bajrang conducting a prayer meeting for religious conversion of poor people.

Ajay Tripathi said that it is alleged that earlier Bajrang used to find poor people and provide them food and clothes. After this he used to lure them to adopt Christianity. Locals claimed that more than 20 people have been forcibly converted to Christianity by Bajrang.

Bajrang has been taken into police custody for further questioning.
