Raipur: Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Aggarwal has instructed all the police gazetted officers and station in-charges of Raipur Police along with the in-charge Anti Crime and Cyber Unit to completely curb gambling and betting by locating those operating gambling, betting and online betting and imposing new laws on them. Instructions have been given to take action under the law/act.
In the same sequence, the team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit received information that in the empty field behind Shree Medicine Hospital under New Rajendra Nagar police station area, a person lost money worth Rs. Operating online cricket betting by placing bets of Rs. On which Additional Superintendent of Police West Jai Prakash Carpenter, Additional Superintendent of Police Crime Pitamber Singh Patel, City Superintendent of Police Old Basti Rajesh Chaudhary and Deputy Superintendent of Police Crime Dinesh Sinha handed over Anti Crime and Cyber Unit in-charge and Police Station Incharge New Rajendra City Inspector Archana Dhurandhar. Was directed to arrest him red handed. On which the joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and New Rajendra Nagar police station went to the place mentioned by the informer, identified the person and arrested him. During interrogation, the person revealed his name to be Firan Kumar Diwakar, resident of New Rajendra Nagar, Raipur. When the team members checked his mobile phone, he was found to be betting during the cricket match on his mobile phone. On which Firan Kumar Diwakar was arrested and one mobile phone of Vivo company, worth about Rs 13,000/- used in betting operations was seized from his possession and crime number 365/23 section CG was registered against the accused in police station New Rajendra Nagar. An offense under Section 7 of the Gambling Prohibition Act 2022 was registered and action was taken.
