Open letter in support of sugarcane farmers of Uttar Pradesh: Akhilesh Yadav

Lucknow. Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh gave a big gift to the sugarcane farmers in the cabinet meeting today. An increase of Rs 20 per quintal in sugarcane price has been approved in the cabinet meeting. Akhilesh Yadav has hit back at this decision of Yogi cabinet. He said that, ⁠sugarcane is being purchased at a much lower price than expected.

⁠Till date the problem of sugarcane payment has not been completely resolved. Akhilesh Yadav wrote on X, Open letter in support of sugarcane farmers of Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers of Uttar Pradesh are one of the most unhappy and tortured farmers of the country due to many reasons. First of all, the skyrocketing cost of sugarcane cultivation is preventing farmers from turning their produce profitable. ⁠It was also written that there is no meaningful protective cover to protect the standing crops from natural and non-vegetarian animals. Sugarcane is being purchased at much lower prices than expected. ⁠Till date the problem of sugarcane payment has not been completely resolved.
