Operation Don launched to stop drug epidemic

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Police is preparing to launch “Operation Don”, a multi-pronged effort aimed at tackling the growing drug problem in the state. This bold and ambitious initiative is an important step in addressing the drug epidemic, with a focus not only on law enforcement but also on mentoring and guiding youth towards a drug-free future. “Operation Dawn” will involve a wide range of strategies to reduce both the demand for and supply of drugs. Stringent law enforcement measures will be combined with active participation efforts like awareness campaigns and interactive sessions to motivate and guide the youth of the state. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has been a vocal advocate against drug abuse for the last two years, demonstrating the government’s unwavering commitment to eliminate the drug menace from the state. This comprehensive approach underlines the State’s determination to address this important issue, recognizing the importance of not only enforcement but also guidance and education to protect the well-being of youth and the broader community. Reviewing the verification parade of Assam Rifles women recruits at Assam Rifles Training Center and School (ARTC&S), Sukhovi in Nagaland on Wednesday, he said that the verification parade of women recruits is the best example of women empowerment. “These women workers will ensure good livelihood for themselves and their families and will inspire girls in future to stand on their own feet and contribute to the progress of the country,” Parnaik said. The Governor took the salute of the marching contingents led by Recruit Maina Saikia.
