Operational procedure of pork processing plant in Nazira discussed

Sivasagar: A meeting was held in the conference room of the SDO (Civil) office, Nazira on Thursday to discuss various issues related to starting the operational process of the pork processing plant located at Chanbosa, Nazira.

The meeting was chaired by Sivasagar District Commissioner Aditya Vikram Yadav, where views and opinions of members of Gahori Palok Santha and pork selling vendors (wholesalers/retailers) were also taken.

Officials from the veterinary department stressed the importance of scientifically slaughtering pork at the slaughterhouse to prevent the menace of Asian swine fever and other diseases and the importance of maintaining the hygiene and quality of consumable meat. It was decided in the meeting that the pork processing plant would be operational by mid-May where the pork would be processed with utmost care.
