Opium smuggler arrested in Rajendra Nagar
Raipur. On the directions of Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh, a special campaign against drugs is being run by Raipur Police under the Nijaat Abhiyan, in which continuous action is being taken by all the police stations and the team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit. A special team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit has been formed to take effective action against the Narcotics Act and all police station in-charges have been directed to take strict action against those who sell and supply intoxicants. In the same sequence, on 12.02.2024, the team of New Rajendra Nagar police station received information that a person riding a two-wheeler near Puraina Road under New Rajendra Nagar police station area was possessing the narcotic drug opium. Looking for a customer to make a sale.
On which, under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of New Rajendra Nagar police station and Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit went to the said place, traced the two-wheeler and the person of the same description described by the informer, identified the person and arrested him. During interrogation, the person revealed his name to be Sunder Singh, resident of Telibandha, Raipur. When the team members searched Sunder Singh, he was found to be in possession of the banned drug opium. On which accused Sunder Singh was arrested and from his possession about 21 grams of banned drug opium worth about Rs 10,000/-, sale amount of Rs 2,000/- and Activa vehicle number CG/04/MR/1349 Jumla used in the incident worth about Rs 60,000. /- Rupees were seized and action was taken against the accused by registering crime number 77/2024 under Section 18(A) Narcotic Act in Police Station New Rajendra Nagar.
