Oppo launches smartphone ‘A78’ in India, equipped with many great features including 8 GB RAM

New Delhi (IANS). Smartphone brand Oppo on Tuesday launched a new smartphone ‘Oppo A78’ with best in class battery in India.

The handset is offered in Aqua Green and Mist Black color options and is priced at Rs 17,499 and will be available for sale starting August 1 across mainline retail outlets, Oppo e-Store and Flipkart.

The Aqua Green A78 uses a double-layer process to superimpose OPPO’s first Diamond Matrix design on top of a water-green base layer. The Mist Black version comes with a touch of yellow-green color on its pure black base to give the phone a unique metallic sheen.

The smartphone sports an ultra-slim retro design with 2.5D right angle frame and smooth edges, making the phone sleek and comfortable to hold.

Its AMOLED screen is capable of delivering deep blacks, excellent contrast and true-to-life colors. The 6.42-inch Full HD Plus AMOLED display has features that are at par with high-end handsets, including 90Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling, up to 180Hz touch sampling rate for touch response while playing games, and smart adaptive backlighting.

Apart from this, the A78 4G sports a 50MP primary camera and 2MP secondary camera, which clicks great photos in every setting. The device also supports dual-view video function, which enables simultaneous recording from its 8MP front camera and 50MP camera to merge footage into a single frame for creative vlogs.

Furthermore, the A78’s L1 WideWine certification means it supports high-definition video streaming from all mainstream video platforms. For audio, its dual stereo speakers with Real Original Sound technology tested by Dirac. It has immersive surround sound output, whether you are listening to music, watching videos or playing games.

The handset also packs an Ultra Volume Mode, which allows users to increase the speaker level up to 200 percent for audible audio even in noisy environments.

For smooth performance, the OPPO A78 packs a Snapdragon 680 processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and up to 1TB of expandable storage via microSD card. In addition, the RAM of the Oppo can be expanded by up to an additional 8GB of storage.

The smartphone runs on ColorOS 13.1 based on Android 13, which brings features like screen translation to enhance privacy and performance. This allows you to point the camera at the script for instant AI-based translation.

The smartphone is equipped with 67W SuperVOOC (Voltage Open Loop Multi-Step Constant-Current Charging) flash charging technology, which is one of the fastest charging technologies in this price band, as well as a massive 5000mAh battery. With this combination, the device can charge up to 73 percent in 30 minutes and reach full charge in about 45 minutes.

OPPO focuses on battery reliability and safety with features such as optimized all-day charging mode and 5-layer charging protection, including adapter overload protection, flash-charge condition identification protection, charging port overload protection, battery current/voltage overload Protection and battery fuse protection are included.
