Mathura: A massive fire broke out at a firecracker market in Mathura on Sunday, injuring at least 15 people, nine of whom are in critical condition. This incident took place in Gopal Bagh located in Raya Kotwali area, causing chaos during Diwali celebrations. According to officials, the fire started from a shop and quickly spread to other shops even before the fire brigade reached the spot.
According to reports, the fire was so severe that two motorcycles and 12 nearby shops were gutted. People were seen running here and there as the fire engulfed several shops and firefighters were trying to control the blaze.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and officials are investigating the incident. Police station in-charge Ajay Kishore said, “Seven shops selling firecrackers caught fire in Gopalbagh area. Nine people suffered serious burns. “It seems the fire broke out due to an electrical short circuit.”
