Over 10 students injured as lightning strikes school in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: More than 10 students were injured after lightning struck a school in Bhubaneswar while they were attending classes this afternoon.
As predicted by the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rainfall accompanied with strong lightning occurred at different parts of the State Capital City this afternoon.
However, one of the lightnings reportedly struck the Baramunda Rental High School in Bhubaneswar following which over ten students were injured. One of them even reportedly became senseless while another student felt numbness in one of her hands.
The school authorities soon rushed all the students to the Capital Hospital for treatment. Later, their parents also reached the government hospital.
“Our teacher was taking class in the afternoon when it rained in the area. All of a sudden, lighting struck our school building due to which some of us were injured. Soon, the teacher suspended the classes and brought us to the hospital
