Over 10 students trapped in Delhi flood waters rescued

New Delhi (IANS). Over 10 students who were trapped in the flood waters of the Yamuna river in a school in North Delhi have been successfully rescued. The police gave this information on Saturday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Sagar Singh Kalsi said that at around one o’clock on Saturday afternoon, information was received at Kashmiri Gate police station that about 10-12 students were trapped in a school, Dharma Sangh Vidyalaya Gurukul.

The DCP said, “On receiving the information, the Station House Officer along with the police team reached the spot and with the help of the National Disaster Response Force, all the 12 students were rescued, who are now safe and sound.”

Earlier on Saturday, Delhi Fire Services (DFS) rescued over 30 trainees from the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) in Delhi’s ITO area.

According to DFS director Atul Garg, the fire department received an emergency call at 11.20 am about the condition of IIPA.

“The water level is rising, without delay DFS personnel rushed to the spot to assess the situation and initiate rescue operations,” Garg said. The primary concern was the safety and well-being of the 33 Indian Statistical Service trainees who found themselves trapped in the institute. was found.”
