Over 600 Naval personnel participate in Republic Day celebrations at ENC
VISAKHAPATNAM: On the occasion of the 75th Republic Day, Vice-Admiral Samir Saxena, Chief of Staff, Eastern Naval Command (ENC), reviewed the ceremonial parade at the ENC Parade Ground at INS Govt.
Over 600 personnel from ships, submarines, establishments, Defense Security Corps and Sea Cadet Corps of ENC participated in the parade. A large number of people including service personnel and their families, veterans and civilian dignitaries witnessed the event.
Saying that the Indian Navy is on the verge of becoming gender neutral, Vice-Admiral Saxena said it is everyone’s responsibility to make this endeavor successful.
The Chief of Staff said that the deployment of ENC units to the West Coast of Africa, Japan, Australia and various IOR (Indian Ocean Region) coastal areas has strengthened and demonstrated the Command’s ability to conduct and support operations over extended ranges.
He also appreciated the efforts of ENC units in supporting various efforts of national importance including the exploration of Gaganyaan – India’s manned space mission.
Vice-Admiral Saxena also highlighted that a number of activities including MILAN-24 and other large-scale multilateral exercises are planned in the near future.
Director says NSTL is playing an important role in developing underwater weapons
Naval Science and Technology Laboratory (NSTL) also celebrated Republic Day with patriotic fervour. NSTL Director Abraham Varughese hoisted the national flag and highlighted that the organization is playing a vital role in developing state-of-the-art indigenous underwater weapons using technological advancements.
