Owaisi slams Modi government for inconsistent stand on Gaza
Hyderabad: Calling out India’s stand on the Israel-Hamas conflict in Palestine, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday attacked the Modi government for stalling the UN resolution on humanitarian ceasefire and protection of civilian life. Addressing the X, he said Modi, who had condemned the Hamas attack on Israel, cannot agree to the UN resolution demanding a ceasefire. “He spoke to the King of Jordan a few days ago but he balked at the proposal presented by Jordan. This is inconsistent foreign policy,” he said. Stating that 7,028 civilians have been killed in Gaza, including more than 3,000 children and 1,700 women, Owaisi said that 45% of the houses in Gaza have been destroyed. He said that even during peacetime, the people of Gaza have to depend on humanitarian aid. “This is a humanitarian issue, not a political one. By blocking the proposal, India stands alone in the Global South, South Asia and BRICS. Why did India abstain on issues related to civil life? Why abstention after sending aid to Gaza? What happened to ‘One World One Family’ and ‘Vishwaguru’,” he tweeted.
