Passengers protested after the train stopped for an hour

Chengalpattu: Passengers protested against the station master after the train from Chennai to Chengalpattu via Singaperumal temple was stopped for an hour at Singaperumal temple area on Monday midnight. The train was stopped after some coaches of a goods train derailed near Chengalpattu railway station. A goods train derailed near Chengalpattu on Sunday night. Following the derailment, movement of trains from South Tamil Nadu towards Chennai was stopped. Railway officials said the goods train laden with iron rods was headed towards Chennai Harbor when it derailed near Chengalpattu around 10.30 pm on Monday. He said that more than five coaches derailed. More information is awaited.
