Payment of Rs 17,773 crore to farmers, so many lakh metric tonnes of paddy purchased so far in Chhattisgarh
Raipur. In Chhattisgarh, the grand campaign of paddy procurement is going on continuously from November 1, 2023 under the Kharif marketing year 2023-24. This year, as per the guarantee of Modi ji, the state government is purchasing paddy from farmers at the rate of 21 quintals per acre.
So far, the state government has purchased 82.44 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from farmers at support price. More than Rs 17,773 crore has been paid to farmers in lieu of paddy.
It is noteworthy that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the benefit of selling 21 quintals of paddy per acre will also be available to the farmers who had sold paddy earlier.
This means that the farmers who have sold the predetermined quantity of paddy from November 1 till now will be able to sell the remaining quantity of paddy in the procurement center till January 31.
In the Kharif marketing year 2022-23, along with the support price of 15 quintals of common paddy per acre, farmers of the state were given Rs 2040 per quintal as support price, along with which they were given an input subsidy of Rs 9000 per acre, including which the maximum payment would be Rs 39,600. used to have.
This year, since 21 quintals of paddy will be purchased at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal, farmers will get Rs 65,100 by selling 21 quintals of paddy per acre. If seen in this way, this year the farmers will get an additional profit of Rs 25,500 on the sale of paddy as compared to last year.
Markfed General Manager Dilip Jaiswal said that so far 82 lakh 44 thousand 476 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from 16 lakh 67 thousand 790 farmers in the state at support price. In lieu of this, an amount of more than Rs 17 thousand 773 crore has been paid to the farmers under the bank linking system.
Along with paddy procurement, continuous lifting of paddy is going on for custom milling. So far, DO has been issued for the lifting of 68 lakh 55 thousand 366 metric tons of paddy. Against this, 48 lakh 23 thousand 145 metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted by the millers. This year, 130 lakh metric tonnes of paddy is estimated to be procured in the state.
