Phagwara: AAP leader Daljit Singh Raju receives another threat call

Jalandhar: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and social activist Daljit Singh Raju continues to receive threatening calls, despite repeated appeals to state security agencies and written letters to the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister. This has raised concerns for his and his family’s safety. The latest incident occurred late Wednesday night, when Raju allegedly received an abusive and threatening call from an international number, in which the caller declared that neither he nor his son would be spared. According to Raju, the threatening call came from a UK number and contained abusive language and explicit threats. He claimed the call was recorded and shared with the relevant police officials as part of the ongoing investigation. This new threat comes just weeks after an armed attack on his home. Raju had earlier told the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister that his house in Darvesh Pind village in the Phagwara subdivision of Kapurthala district was targeted by unidentified armed assailants on the night of November 27 and 28, 2025. He alleged that 25-27 rounds were fired at his house while his family members were inside, and a ransom note demanding Rs 5 crore was thrown in the courtyard, threatening dire consequences if the demand was not met.
