Pickup driver arrested for smuggling cows
Kanker. Kanker police has arrested an accused while smuggling cows. In Bardebhatha Chowk of Kotwali police station area, a person who was taking cows to Andhra Pradesh slaughterhouse in a pickup vehicle has been arrested. Kanker Kotwali in-charge ASI Ajay Sahu said that “two agricultural cattle were mercilessly stuffed in a pick-up vehicle and were being taken from Kanker to the slaughter house in Andhra Pradesh without fodder and water.
On information, two cattle were recovered from the car from Bardebhatha Chowk. The driver told that animals were being taken to be slaughtered in Andhra Pradesh. In which action is being taken against the driver Binesh Patel, resident of village Junwani.” The accused has been produced for judicial remand. Cases of cattle smuggling keep coming to the fore from Kanker. They keep transporting illegally in. Even after the police action, the spirits of cattle smugglers are high.
