PM Modi virtually dedicates 18 NH projects to the nation

Vijayawada: Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually dedicated 18 National Highway (NH) projects to the nation and laid the foundation stone for 17 NH projects with a budget of Rs 29,395 crore, with a total length of 1,134 km in Andhra Pradesh.

A live-streamed program of the Prime Minister was organized on the occasion by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Many leaders and officials participated in the program organized in Vijayawada on Monday.
During his address, Modi inaugurated and inaugurated several projects costing more than Rs 1 lakh crore in 16 states, including the Haryana stretch (Delhi-Gurugram). He also laid the foundation stone of various projects.
PM Modi expressed satisfaction that 30 per cent of the projects launched at the national level were allocated to Andhra Pradesh, amounting to about Rs 30,000 crore.
He emphasized that NHs will catalyze economic growth and development, promote emergence of industries and ensure safe and efficient travel.
The projects inaugurated in the state include 51 km long six-lane Anandapuram-Pendurthy-Anakapalle section built at a cost of Rs 2,957 crore, 127 km long four-lane Gurajanapalli-Avanigadda road built at a cost of Rs 1,185 crore, 27 km long six-lane Includes the Wali Gundugunu-Kalabaru section. at a cost of Rs 666 crore, 17 km long 4-lane Vizianagaram Town Bypass at a cost of Rs 429 crore, seven km long four-lane Murkambatu-Cherlopalli section at a cost of Rs 89 crore and two 23 km long lines at a cost of Rs 85 crore. Work was carried out on Devarapalli-Jeelugumili section.
He also laid the foundation stone of the 344-km-long six-lane (NH-544G) Bengaluru-Cuddapah-Vijayawada Economic Corridor costing Rs 14,060 crore and several other projects in the state.
Speaking on the occasion, APBJP president D Purandeswari reiterated the Centre’s commitment to the development of the state. He highlighted the importance of timely completion of the project for the progress of AP, considering the significant investment in National Highways in the last decade.
Rajya Sabha member CM Ramesh appreciated the efforts of the officers, employees and workers in timely project implementation. He stressed the potential of highways like Vijayawada-Bangalore in enhancing connectivity and promoting national development.
Transport, Roads and Buildings Secretary in AP, Pradyuman PS praised the state government for speedy completion of the projects. He praised the efficiency of the officers in land acquisition, which was appreciated by Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari. Pradyuman PS, secretary of transport, roads and buildings in Andhra Pradesh, urged the Center to expedite the Vijayawada Eastern Bypass and Bhogapuram project, apart from the ongoing projects.
