PM Modi will address his first rally in Pilibhit on April 9
Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Pilibhit on April 9 and address an election rally. This will be PM Modi’s first election rally in Pilibhit. The party is making vigorous preparations for the rally. Uttar Pradesh minister Jitin Prasad, who joined BJP from Congress in 2021, is the BJP candidate from here. He has been given the ticket in place of sitting MP Varun Gandhi. In 2019, Varun Gandhi won the election as a BJP candidate with 59.34 percent votes. Pilibhit BJP president Sanjeev Pratap Singh said, “We are preparing for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s election rally in Pilibhit on April 9. This will be his first rally here after assuming the post of PM in 2014.” On the other hand, after the ticket was cut, Varun Gandhi has maintained silence on his next step. He has kept himself away from publicity. Neither did he accompany the BJP candidate during the filing of nomination papers, nor did he participate in the program addressed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Pilibhit on April 2. In a letter to the people of the constituency, Varun Gandhi said, “Though my tenure as an MP is coming to an end, my relationship with Pilibhit cannot end till my last breath.” Party’s state vice president Vijay Pathak said, “BJP has changed its candidates on many seats. It is ‘Kamal’ (party symbol) which is contesting on all the seats. People were with BJP earlier also and are still there. Samajwadi Party (SP), which is contesting the elections in alliance with Congress, has fielded Bhagwat Sharan Gangwar from here. On the other hand, BSP has declared Anees Ahmed Khan alias Phool Babu as its candidate. The first phase of voting is to be held here on April 19.
