PM Modi will inaugurate 4 new trains in Kerala today.
Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kerala on Friday (January 23) to inaugurate four new trains and several welfare schemes.
Assembly elections are due in Kerala in the next few months. Additionally, the BJP recently won the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation elections. In this context, the Prime Minister’s visit to Kerala is significant.
At an event in Thiruvananthapuram in the morning, the Prime Minister will launch the Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Credit Card Scheme, a financial assistance scheme for street vendors. This is an interest-free, eight-digit loan scheme. Under this scheme, loans will be disbursed to approximately one lakh people in a single day.
He will then inaugurate a modern post office in Thiruvananthapuram. Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone for an Innovation-Technology-Entrepreneurship Development Centre. He will also lay the foundation stone for a ‘Radiosurgery’ center, which will be built using entirely indigenous technology.
Later, he will flag off four new trains, including three Amrit Bharat trains. These trains will run between states including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. It is said that this will further improve tourism, trade, education, and employment in the southern states.
After his visit to Kerala, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Tamil Nadu on Friday afternoon.
