The police have also recovered 8 stolen bikes and two scooties from the accused, whose value has been estimated by the police at Rs 5 lakh 90 thousand. The information about the arrest of the accused was given by Bemetara SP Bhavna Gupta in a press conference on Tuesday.
On the direction of Bemetara Superintendent of Police Bhavna Gupta, a campaign is being conducted to arrest permanent warrantees who have been absconding for a long time in Bemetara. In this sequence, information about the bike stolen in Devarbija was bought and sold in Raipur. After this, the joint team strictly interrogated two suspects living in Bemetara district, temporarily residing in Raipur. The accused confessed their crime, after which the police arrested the accused.
SP Bhavna Gupta told that the accused Sonu Nirmalkar, living in Khamharia village of the district and Sikandar living in Padmi village of Devarbija Chowki area, used to steal bikes from various places including Banjare district and sell them in Raipur. Both have been arrested from Devarbija. There were 6 permanent warrants pending against the accused.
