Police and paramilitary forces conducted flag march in Tarn Taran

Punjab: Keeping in mind the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, a contingent of Punjab Police and paramilitary forces on Sunday organized a flag march in various areas of the city to instill a sense of confidence among the residents about their safety.

Additional deputy commissioner-cum-additional district election officer Varinderpal Singh Bajwa led the flag march in the city. Other officers who participated in the flag march include Tarn Taran SDM Simrandeep Singh, Khadur Sahib SDM Sachin Pathak and SP (Headquarters) Parvinder Kaur.

Bajwa said the flag march passed through Muradpur, Pandori Gola and other areas of the city. These areas are infamous for illegal liquor trade.
Bajwa said the objective of the flag march was to create fear among anti-social elements and create a sense of security among residents and ensure peaceful elections. He said that the flag march and search operation will continue till the elections are over. He called upon residents to cast their votes to strengthen the country’s democracy.
He warned anti-social elements against disturbing peace and normalcy in the society. He said that anyone spreading unrest will not be spared.
