Police arrest bus driver after ICICI Bank deputy manager dies in WEH road accident

Maharashtra: A deputy manager of ICICI Bank died in a road accident on the Western Express Highway (WEH) in Malad East on December 26.
About the accident
The accident occurred at 8 p.m. near Nilayog Tower when a private bus allegedly hit his motorcycle from behind and crushed him. The bus driver has been arrested. According to police, Dhawal Rajput, 32, a resident of Charkop in Kandivali West, worked as a deputy manager at the bank’s Chandivali (Andheri East) branch. He commuted to his workplace daily on his motorcycle.
On December 26, after work, Rajput was returning home on his motorcycle when a recklessly driven bus hit his bike. Following the collision, Rajput fell onto the road, and his head was pinned under the left rear wheel of the bus.
A mobile team of Dindoshi police took Rajput to Shatabdi Hospital in Kandivali West, where doctors declared him dead at 9:20 p.m. Police then informed his father. Based on a complaint from his younger brother, Neel Rajput, 22, Dindoshi police have registered a case against the bus driver, alleging death by negligence. Further investigation is underway.
