Police caught ganja in Raipur, three smugglers arrested
Raipur: Three inter-state ganja smugglers from Orissa have been arrested while transporting a huge consignment of 91 kg ganja. According to the information, the Narcotics Cell team formed under the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit received information that some persons were coming from Mahasamund towards Raipur, transporting ganja in a four-wheeler. On which Additional Superintendent of Police Rural Neeraj Chandrakar, Additional Superintendent of Police Crime Pitambar Patel, Deputy Superintendent of Police Crime Dinesh Sinha and City Superintendent of Police Mana Kalpana Verma informed the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit in-charge and Mandir Hasaud in-charge of the police station and traced the vehicles and persons to the Ganja. Was directed to get caught red handed. On which, under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police Crime Dinesh Sinha, the joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and Police Station Mandir Hasaud started tracing the vehicles and persons.
The vehicle and persons were being traced by the team members. Meanwhile, the team members saw the vehicle coming near the canal culvert located on NH-53 Road Serikhedi under Mandir Hasaud area of the police station, and the vehicle was stopped by the team members. There were three persons in the vehicle who during interrogation revealed their names to be Satyapriya Manjhi, Pradosh Munda and Hitesh Pradhan resident of Angul Orissa. When the team members searched his vehicle, it was found that ganja was kept in the vehicle.
On which the three accused were arrested and a total of 91 kg 240 grams of ganja was kept in different packets from their possession, Tata Manza car number GJ/21/AA/6123 used in ganja transportation and 02 mobile phones related to the incident, Jumla Precious. Approximately Rs 14,00,000/- was seized and action was taken against the accused by registering crime number 600/23 under Section 20B Narcotic Act in Police Station Mandir Hasaud.
During interrogation, the accused are said to have brought the ganja from Orissa.
