Police IIC arrested the tainted person, total cash of Rs 37,27,000 seized
Koraput: Odisha Vigilance today arrested tainted Boipariguda police IIC Sushant Satpathy after seizing cash totaling Rs 37,27,000 from him. On receipt of credible information regarding collection of huge cash as illegal gratification from various sources by IIC Susantha Satpathy of Boipariguda police station, Koraput district, a team of Odisha Vigilance kept a close watch on the movements and activities of Satpathy. Accordingly, on the night of 27.11.2023, Odisha Vigilance team stopped him near Jeypore, when he was coming from Boipariguda to Cuttack by bus. During the interception, a sum of Rs 2,70,000 was recovered from Satpathy, for which he could not give satisfactory account. All the cash was confiscated. Immediately after the interception, simultaneous searches were conducted in government offices.

Residential Quarters at Boipariguda, Rs 1,80,000/- in cash from his office room at Boipariguda Police Station and Rs 29,77,000/- in cash from his Govt. The quarter was recovered in Cuttack. With this the total cash seizure is Rs. 37,27,000/- (Thirty Seven Lakh Twenty Seven Thousand Rupees), for which he could not give a satisfactory account.
In this regard, Koraput Vigilance PS Case No. 38 dated 27.11.2023 registered a case against Sushant Satpathy, IIC under u/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b) Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 Has gone. , Boipariguda Police Station, District Koraput. Susantha Satpathy, IIC, was arrested and sent to court. Satpathy was born on 11.03.1978, he joined Govt. Served as Constable under Bhubaneswar District Police in the year 1999 and then selected as Sub-Inspector of Police through direct recruitment in the year 2008 and received training at BPSPA, Bhubaneswar during 2008-09.
From the year 2009 to July 2023 he worked as SI in Keonjhar district, Narsinghpur PS, Tigiriya PS, Athagarh PS and Mangalabagh PS, Naugaon PS, Jagatsinghpur, Gunupur PS under Cuttack district, Ramanguda OP under District-Rayagada. In July 2023, he was promoted to the rank of Inspector and joined as Inspector, DCRB and Incharge Cyber PS in Koraput District. In the month of August-2023, he was transferred as IIC, Boipariguda PS, Koraput and was working there since then. The inspection of the matter is going on. Details of movable and immovable assets including investments, deposits etc. are being scrutinized.
