Police keeping a close eye on hotel and dhaba operators, 5 accused selling liquor arrested

Mungeli: Mungeli’s female DEO Savita Rajput, who did not pay this amount to the teachers, has been suspended. Savita Rajput was posted as District Education Officer of Mungeli district. His retirement was on 30th September this month.

To pay the arrears of Teacher Panchayat, the District Panchayat had released Rs 1 crore 52 lakh 98 thousand 214 to them on 13 January 2023. After reallocating the amount, the District Panchayat sent correspondence on 2 February 2023, 24 February 2023, 1 March 2023, 13 March 2023 for providing certificates of payment of the arrears amount. But after issuing letters four times, the amount was allotted to all the BEOs by the District Education Officer on March 17. Due to late allocation of funds, the arrears amount could not be paid to the teachers.

Show cause notice was issued to Savita Rajput on 16 May. But in response to the notice, he put the entire blame on the block education officials. His answer was not considered satisfactory and he has been suspended for indifference towards duty. During the suspension period, his headquarters has been fixed as Joint Education Director Education Bilaspur office.
