Police Overaction Against During Asha Workers Chalo Hyderabad

Asha workers have taken to the streets demanding the minimum wage of Rs 18,000 as set out in the Congress party manifesto. Police are arresting Asha workers across the state in the wake of the Asha workers’ call to Chalo Hyderabad. They are demanding that a fixed wage of Rs 18,000 be fixed for Asha workers in the assembly budget sessions.

Asha workers staged a dharna demanding that the promises made by the Congress be fulfilled. As part of the agitation, they tried to blockade the Assembly. The police showed excessive zeal towards the Asha workers participating in the agitation. Several Asha workers were injured in the scuffle that occurred due to police overreaction. An Asha worker lost her life in the scuffle that occurred at the RTC cross road with the police.

They said that they are not asking for any petty demands.. They are asking for the salary of Rs. 18 thousand as mentioned in the Congress government and CM Revanth Reddy’s manifesto
. They want us for every small job.. Then why are they not recognizing us? They expressed their grief that we are not even getting goods with next month’s salary. Today, even though we took permission for the dharna, they are arresting us like dogs, the Asha workers are strongly protesting the atrocities of the Congress government. In this context, the Asha workers are strongly opposing the arrest of them by the police who came to the assembly.
