Police raid on gambling den, 45 people including 12 women arrested
Mumbai: Police raided a building in Khar on Friday (December 1). This time around 45 people were found gambling (Illegal Gambling RacketKhar). Mumbai Police has registered a case against all 45 people. Mumbai Police Crime Branch said that all these 45 people have been arrested.
Residents had lodged a complaint: Residents of the Om Palace building on Ambedkar Road in Mumbai’s western suburbs had lodged a complaint with the crime branch about gambling. The people living in this building were troubled due to gambling. After this the police raided and arrested 45 people. Four people were running this gambling den. This time 12 women were also present there. Rs 34 lakh in cash, plastic coins worth Rs 1 crore and betting paraphernalia were seized from the spot. Police said that a case has been registered against the arrested people under the Indian Penal Code and Gambling Act.
Seized worth lakhs: In this action taken by the Crime Branch, the police have seized Rs 34 lakh in cash and gambling coins worth Rs 1 crore 1 lakh 50 thousand. In this matter, a case has been registered at Khar Police Station under Section 4 (A) (B), 5 of the Prevention of Gambling Act. Further investigation of this case is being done by Cell 9 Crime Branch.
