Police raided 3 villages, 16 gamblers arrested

Janjgir-Champa: On receiving information about gambling in different places of Akaltara police station area of the district, the police team took raid action. In this, 16 people have been caught by the police while gambling. Action has been taken against the arrested gamblers under the Gambling Prohibition Act.

Akaltara police station in-charge T S Pattavi said that information was received through an informer that card gambling was being played by betting money in different places of Akaltara police station area like Khatola, Padaria and Akaltara. On receiving the information, a police team was formed and raids were conducted at different places.

During this period, 16 people were caught gambling on the spot. 11 thousand 45 rupees along with 52 playing cards and other items have been seized from them.
