Police raids at 2 places including bus stand, bookies arrested
Dhamtari: Police is taking strict action against those who run illegal liquor, gambling and betting. In this connection, the Nagari police team arrested two bookies at two different places under the supervision of the police station in-charge Nagari while writing betting with a Satta Patti. The accused Rahul Banjare, father Ballu Banjare, age 21 years, Ward No. 13, Bazaar Para Nagari, Police Station Nagari, District Dhamtari, was caught on the spot while gambling with people by writing gambling numbers called Satta Patti and betting on the win or loss of money in a public place near the bus stand intersection of Nagari. Rs 870/- cash, 03 pieces of Satta Patti with money written in front of one piece of different numbers, 01 piece of dot pen were seized from them.
At the same time, accused Yogesh Devangan, father Bhomraj Devangan, age 40 years, resident of Ward No. 11 Churiyarapara Nagari, Police Station Nagari, District Dhamtari, was caught on the spot while gambling with people in a public place in Rajabada Nagari by writing gambling numbers called Satta Patti and betting on the win or loss of money. From whom 2350 / – rupees cash, one piece with money written in front of various numbers, 01 piece of dot pen were seized.
A crime has been registered against both the bookies in Police Station Nagari under FIR No. 48, 49/24 and legal action has been taken under Chhattisgarh Gambling Prohibition Act 2022 Section 06 (a) Gambling Act. And both the accused were duly arrested and sent on judicial remand.
