Police seized 10 lakh cash from businessman, could not show documents
Dhamtari: Due to Chhattisgarh Assembly elections 2023, police is continuously running checking campaign. Today, during checking at Borai check post, police have recovered Rs 10 lakh from a businessman from Odisha. Odisha businessman Subhrat Mandal could not show the documents, due to which the police seized the amount. Let us tell you that Dhamtari police has seized Rs 12 lakh in two days.
Police station in-charge inspector Rajesh Jagat along with Hamrah staff was doing surprise checking after reaching the police barrier naka Borai. During this time, vehicle number Tata Harrier car number CG-04 MS- 1627 was coming from Odisha, after stopping and searching the said vehicle, apart from the driver, a person was found sitting on the front seat. He took his name as Subrata Mandal, father late. Said to be a resident of Chandrakant Mandal, Raighar, District Navrangpur Province (Odisha). Twenty bundles of 100 notes of Rs 500 each, amounting to Rs 10 lakh, stuffed in a white colored bag, were recovered from them.
Earlier on October 18, Dhamtari Police had recovered Rs 218500 during checking of vehicles at SST Check Point Budeni Navagaon of Kareli Badi Chowki area. SST team had seized Rs 218500 in cash from Keshav Panda, father of Bhaskar Panda, resident of village Kamra, Odisha. The police took action when no valid documents were presented in relation to the said cash amount.
